Valspar Championship 2022 – DraftKings PGA DFS Daily Cheat Sheet & Overview – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights

Last week’s tournament was…..fun. It made you want to tear your hair out in DFS circles as the players tried to navigate the weather on Saturday – and in the end, we saw Cam Smith win the title. This week we were a little disappointed in terms of the quality of the pitch for the 2022 Valspar Championship. The quality of the pitch is not as good as it was for the PLAYERS, but overall we have a lot of great golfers who will be playing this week.

As for this week’s event, players will play Innisbrook, which checks in at over 7,300 yards for the Par 71 track. Ball striking will be paramount here and we’ll be using the usual suspects as key metrics to assess the terrain in combination with recent form. Let’s dive in and look at some of the best options on the board for the 2022 Valspar Championship!

Best of the Best (considering salary)

Hovland has been outstanding throughout the season and even though he is the most expensive player on the board this week, to me he is worth it. He is one of the best ball strikers on tour, ranking 3rd on tour in SG:OTT and 7th in SG:APP. He’s not good around the green, but he’s been an above average putter and that, along with his fantastic ball-striking, has led to an exceptional start to the season for Hovland. He comes into this one with 4 top 10s in his last 5 events, and I love his chance to win the Valspar this week.

Noren comes into this one making 5 straight cuts, including two top-six finishes – his game is in great shape. The price on him is reasonable and while he isn’t great off the bat I really like his all round game and he is one of my favorite options around him on the pitch this week. He had a decent performance here last year coming in at 21st and overall I think he will be less well held than I think he should be for this week’s event.

Pereira’s game can be inconsistent, but when turned on he is a fantastic ball striker for such a low priced player. He enters this one ranked 45th on tour in SG: OTT, 15th in SG: APP and 23rd in SG: TTG. He’s not great around the green, but he’s average with his chipping and putting. Overall, at this price, while it will be a popular choice, I think it’s one of the best dollar-for-dollar options on the board with a high cap to its price.

Our cheat sheets highlight the core games (including some contrarian candidates) that we like the slate the most and, therefore, would recommend a higher level of exposure overall. This is not an exhaustive list, and if you are a multi-entry GPP player, you may decide to eventually have a larger pool of players to work from. Our hope is that this gives you a core group of players to boost your exposure.

Good luck in your contests this week!!
