Inter could have given Martin Satriano a chance rather than signing Felipe Caicedo, Italian media suggest

Inter’s decision to allow Martin Satriano to leave on loan in January and then bring in Felipe Caicedo from Genoa could be the one they regret.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, which suggests the club may have some regrets over their January transfer activity based on Satriano’s form on loan at Brest.

Satriano had barely featured in the first half of the campaign despite being included in the first-team squad based on his impressive performances in pre-season.

The 20-year-old was sent out on loan to Brest for the rest of the season during the January window, with the clear priority that he is given regular playing time so he can develop in the senior game.

Satriano’s time in Ligue 1 has already exceeded expectations, with the Uruguayan finding the back of the net three times in just a few appearances.

Meanwhile, Caicedo has come to bolster the attack at short notice, on loan until the end of the season from Genoa, but so far the Ecuadorian hasn’t made a big impression.

Perhaps if the purpose of January’s business was to give the Nerazzurri a plan B in attack that can have an instant impact in key games during the run-in, suggests Tuttosport, the club would have been better off keeping Satriano.
