FinTech lender Upstart said it would not keep loans on its balance sheet that financial institutions have no interest in buying.

As The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, May 19, the San Mateo, Calif.-based company’s decision reverses its decision earlier this year to keep those loans.

Upstart offers personal loans using a machine learning (ML) based credit scoring model that the company says can identify reliable borrowers with less than stellar credit histories.

Chief Financial Officer Sanjay Datta told the Journal that the company would likely reduce its lending volume if it began to notice weak demand for loans from investors, instead of temporarily placing loans on its balance sheet.

The report says Upstart has continued to use its balance sheet to hold loans in new lines of business like auto loans to show investors it can assess credit risk. At the end of March, the company had about $230 million in auto loans on its books.

Upstart is one of a group of several fintech companies whose share price has recently fallen as this year is expected to bring aggressive rate hikes and increased late payments on riskier consumer debt.

Last week, its shares fell 70%, a sharp decline after its December 2020 market debut. The company’s price had soared to $400 per share just seven months ago, but has since fallen in the low $30 range.

Although co-founder and CEO Dave Girouard told analysts earlier this month that the company had just wrapped up its seventh consecutive profitable quarter and fourth consecutive quarter of triple-digit year-on-year revenue growth. Another, the company’s reduced guidance for the current quarter and the whole -year had investors looking to move their money elsewhere.

“It has become clear that 2022 is shaping up to be a tough year for the economy and for the financial services sector in particular,” Girouard said, adding how clear it has become that the Federal Reserve will have to act aggressively. to control inflation.

DENVER (KDVR) – DENVER (KDVR) – After a warm start to the week, freezing temperatures could be possible by this weekend. The Pinpoint Weather Team has released a Pinpoint Weather Alert day for Friday.

Skies could clear early Saturday with overnight lows falling to around 0°C in Denver. This could lead to a freeze/freeze situation.

Be prepared for possible frost

  • Bring potted plants
  • Cover your newly planted flowers or gardens with a leaf

Collette Haskell, a Certified Professional Nurseryman from Colorado at Nick’s Garden Center and Farm Market in Aurora, suggests placing lawn chairs, buckets, or garden stakes around the plants and covering them with a sheet or large cloth. Plastic coverings make plants colder, she said.

Last frost dates since 1872

Here’s a look at the latest dates for the last frost of the season, according to the National Weather Service:

  • June 8, 2007
  • June 2, 1951

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a first, the Department of Higher Education (DHE) has offered a seat upgrade option to students seeking admission to conventional courses through centralized online admissions advice. This new facility will act as a window for students who will be unlucky in their preferred colleges in the first round. Simply put, the student is assigned a college of 4and preference. Thus, in the second round, if places are available, the student will be assigned a higher preference place according to his choice. If this is not possible, his previous seat will be retained.

This facility has been provided by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) in technical courses such as MBA, BE, ME, etc. Now, this option is offered to students seeking admission to traditional courses such as BA, B.Com, B.Sc, MA, M.Com, M.Sc, LLB, etc.

Registration for the first round of counseling begins May 18. Students will be required to choose 15 colleges, in order of priority, at the time of registration.

3,200 places to be filled in non-CUET training

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has called for applications for about 3,200 places in about 80 courses that fall outside the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) offered by different departments and educational centers. The application window will remain open until June 10.

Admission will be given solely on merit, which will be prepared by the relevant department based on its own set of criteria. It can be based on the qualifying exam, or the interview, or any other mode/s or combination of modes.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the country’s academic calendar has been affected. Therefore, for students seeking admission with an annual assessment system, merit eligibility will be considered based on aggregate grades/grades up to their previous years, while, for students in the system semester, all grades/grades up to up to the fifth semester for a three-year program and up to the ninth semester for a five-year program will be considered.

However, if they have participated in their final semester/year exam and results have been declared by June 10, their final semester/year result will be considered for merit purposes. These candidates must submit the mark sheet to the relevant department no later than August 14.

Candidates awaiting their qualifying exam results will be required to submit the final qualifying exam score sheet by September 25 or the date notified by the state government.

Yankees offer tough early test to White Sox originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Asked about the Yankees’ deep roster ahead of Friday’s game, White socks Manager Tony La Russa took his response in a different direction.

“It’s not just the composition,” said La Russa, who added that the Yankees are a “well-rounded club.” “The tee shot was good; the bullpen was outstanding.

New York has looked like baseball class for a month, and the White Sox got their first potential glimpse of what might be in store for them in October halfway through this weekend’s four-game series on the South Side.

New York won both games, by a combined score of 25-11, after Friday’s 10-4 win over the Sox.

“It’s a team that’s hot right now,” Gavin Sheets, who homered for the third time in four games, said of the Yankees, who moved to a 24-8 MLB lead. with victory.

“And it’s a team like this that you have to beat in October to reach the end goal, a World Series.”

The Sox entered this weekend 7-1 in their last eight games.

The Yankees roughed up White Sox starter Vince Velasquez for seven runs and eight hits (three home runs) in five innings. Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson have each gone deeper into it.

On the other side, Gerrit Cole threw 6 1/3 innings 3-run, scattering six hits while striking out nine for a walk.

Velasquez, who allowed five runs through the first two innings, said he felt out of sync from the start.

“This team is very selective when it comes to finding what they like,” Velasquez said of the Yankees. “If you don’t execute, they’ll capitalize. Look at the leaderboard, look at what they’re doing.

New York is 9-2 in May.

“They’re going to ambush,” Velasquez added. “When you don’t have your best gear, it makes things a bit more difficult. You’re going to have your good days, you’re going to have your bad days.

“It’s just a matter of getting back on the horse and getting back to work.”

The White Sox have two more games against the Yankees this weekend to change the narrative, not to mention three more in the Bronx next week.

Outside of the Sheets homer, the White Sox’s best chance against Cole came in the first inning, when they charged one out and failed to score.

Are the Sox hitters collectively trying to do too much?

“It’s unfortunate,” Sheets said. “It’s baseball. It’s a game of chess, and it’s who can fail the least. Right now, collectively, as a whole, we’re not swinging as well as we can. But in same time we have a lot of guys that can really hit here.

“We are in May, it is still early. I will take this team, however, long term. Right now it may be difficult, but in September, October, I always like our chances. There’s way too much talent here to panic.”

Leaves was asked when it stops being too early.

“End of October,” he said with a wry smile. “That’s the best I can give you.”

“We’re going to keep playing as hard as we can and trying our best and trusting the talent here, with the work ethic. We are well.”

End of April, The Cal/OSHA Standards Board has voted to approve the third re-enactment of the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Temporary Emergency Standard (ETS). The revised version of the ETS came into force on May 6, 2022.

As promised when it was adopted, Cal/OSHA has released updated guidance to help with this expiring version of the ETS. January 1, 2023.

Cal/OSHA has released an update to the ETS FAQ Revisions. This FAQ details the May 6 changesand version of the ETS and the requirements of the previous ETS which remain. There is a separate General FAQ COVID-19 ETS which is more responsive to the application of the ETS and has been updated to comply with recent ETS changes.

the Cal/OSHA Isolation and Quarantine Fact Sheet has also been updated to reflect changes in the revised ETS. The fact sheet includes a simple reference chart that explains when employees should be excluded from the workplace, depending on whether they test positive for COVID-19 or have close contact with positive cases.

Finally, Cal/OSHA “What employers need to know” fact sheet has been updated for ETS changes that came into effect on May 6and. Here is a summary :

  • Face covering – Face covering requirements are the same for all employees, regardless of their vaccination status, and are no longer required at all indoor locations. The guidelines now also defer to California Department of Public Health (CDPH) masking requirements.
  • Respirators – Employers must provide respirators to employees who request them for voluntary use, regardless of their vaccination status.
  • Cleaning and disinfection – The ETS no longer includes any cleaning and disinfection requirements.
  • Testing and exclusion
    • Employers are now required to make COVID-19 testing available free of charge and during paid hours to employees with symptoms of COVID-19, regardless of their vaccination status and whether or not there is a known exposure. COVID-19 tests should also be made available to employees who have had close contact in the workplace, during outbreaks, and during major outbreaks.
    • Detailed prescriptive requirements for excluding employees after close contact have been removed. Instead, employers should consider CPDH Guidelines for people who have had close contact and implement quarantine and other workplace measures to prevent transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace.
    • Requirements for employees who test positive for COVID-19 have been updated to reflect the latest CDPH Isolation and Quarantine Guidelines. Regardless of vaccination status, positive employees can return to work after 5 days if the employee tests negative, symptoms improve, and they wear a face covering at work for an additional 5 days. Otherwise, most employees can return after 10 days.
  • Definitions
    • “Close contact” and “infectious period” are now defined so that their meaning will change if the CRPD changes its definition of the term in a regulation or order. This will allow for more flexibility and consistency with the CRPD.
    • The “COVID-19 test” has been simplified to facilitate the use of self-administered and self-reported tests. A video or observation of the entire testing process is no longer necessary; a simple time-stamped photo of the test result will now suffice.
    • “Fully vaccinated” has been deleted as this term is no longer used in the regulations. All protections now apply regardless of vaccination status and requirements do not vary based on an employee’s vaccination status.

Ulysses reached version 26 today, and this update brings a few more feature additions and improvements to the popular writing app for Mac and iOS.

For almost as long as it’s been around, Ulysses has included a dashboard sidebar that can be revealed to show, among other things, writing progress statistics for the current sheet in the editor, such as time average reading and the number of characters and words.

However, the developers have recognized that sometimes it’s really useful to be able to have a particular stat in view at all times while you write, without having to open the dashboard with its wealth of information taking up valuable editing space. Thus, in the latest version of Ulysses for Mac, a single stat can now be displayed directly in the editor, in the upper right corner of the window.

By clicking on the new ‘Editor Counter’, users can select which stats they want to see updated in real time as they write, with options for reading time and counters for words, characters, characters without spaces, sentences, average words per sentence, paragraphs, lines and pages.

ulysses 262
Elsewhere in version 26 for Mac and iOS, the developers have optimized the publishing flow by adding dedicated buttons for quick publishing access and separating preview from publishing. Additionally, there is additional support for more blogs and the process of setting up WordPress accounts has been simplified using the modern REST API.

This update also fixes a crash when sharing a sheet from Ulysses and a potential lag when opening the editor, as well as a crash that occurred when sharing a sheet from Mac to iPad when the use of Universal Control.

ulysses 263
Ulysses downloadable for free from the App store and the Mac App Store, with version 26 rolling out today to existing users. After a 14-day trial period, a subscription is required to unlock the app on all devices. A monthly subscription costs $5.99, while an annual subscription costs $49.99.

Students can use Ulysses for a discounted price of $10.99 per six months. The discount is granted from the application. Ulysses is also included in SetAppthe subscription service for Mac applications created by MacPaw.

Welcome to another edition of FREE DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks. Today we have a huge list of 11 matches up for grabs. There are solid pitching options, like many solid pitching options. Playing the list rate game can be helpful with your pitchers, or eating chalk with the two pitchers mentioned below – lots of ways to build, which is always nice.

It’s a big slate, which means there will be plenty of ways to build tonight. After you choose your two pitchers, we can stack them for days. Coors Field is definitely in play with reasonably priced options like Juan Soto (too cheap). If you want to fade Coors, there are plenty of other ways. Watch the weather, though, as it may be windy in Wrigley tonight.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers – MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Brandon Woodruff – P, MIL vs. CIN ($8,900 DK, $9,700 FD)

Woodruff is coming off a rocky start against the Pirates last time out as he didn’t go five innings, allowed four runs, but still struck out 6. This came after two dominating starts against the Pirates and the Cardinals in his only two home starts. . He pitched 11 scoreless innings and struck out 11 in those two starts. Tonight, Woodruff is back at home against a Reds formation you can exploit. They hit nearly 24% of the time against RHP while hitting 0.202 with an ISO of 0.132. Look for a good rebound from Woodruff tonight.

Bruce Zimmermann – P, BAL vs MIN ($6,100 DK, $9,500 FD)

This season, Zimmermann has been a beast, allowing just two earned runs in his four starts with at least four strikeouts each start. He will face a Twins team tonight who are hitting nearly 25% of the time against LHP averaging .234 and .161 ISO. Zimmermann is fantastic value on DK and appropriately priced on FD. However, he is nowhere near the lock on FD on DK. His speed has declined on the fastball, but he’s got a 12.3% SwStr on the season with a 74% contact rate and nearly 33% chase rate. I’ll be back on Zimmermann tonight.

Other options: Carlos Rodon at LAD (DK$10,000, FD$11,100), Alek Manoah vs. NYY (DK$9,700, FD$10,400), Joe Ryan at BAL (DK$9,500, FD$10,200), Julio Urias vs. SF (DK$8,400, FD$9,400), Paul Blackburn vs. TB (DK$7,700, FD$8,400)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders – MLB DFS Roster Picks

Josh Bell – 1B, WAS at German Marquez ($4,500 DK, $3,900 FD)

Bell is having a fantastic season, hitting .351 with eight extra hits. He only hits 10.6% of the time while walking 14.9%. Quite the plate discipline skills to go with his 179 wRC+. Bell goes to Coors tonight and has a great game against Marquez. Marquez has allowed at least four runs in three straight starts and a hard-hit rate of nearly 50% this season. The Nats are affordable tonight, and Bell’s red bat should be near the top of your options at first base.

Kolten Wong – 2B, MIL vs. Tyler Mahle ($4,100 DK, $2,600 FD)

Wong has had a slow start to the season, but could turn things around late. In four of his last five games, he has hit safely with a .318 average, two doubles and two stolen bases. Over those five games, Wong has .830 OPS and 146 wRC+, which will play as he leads for the Brewers. He will face Mahle tonight, who has allowed three or more earned runs in three of his last four starts. Additionally, Mahle allows LHH to reach 0.302 with an SLG of 0.419 and a walk rate of almost 14%. Look for Wong and the Brewers as a great contrarian option tonight.

Bobby Witt Jr.- SS/3B, KC vs. Dakota Hudson ($2,900 DK, $2,800 FD)

Witt went 1-3 on Monday, giving him a 10-game hitting streak since being demoted in the order. He has three extra hits to go with three stolen bases. His hard hit rate is around 45% and his overall quality of at-bats is improving a lot. He’ll face Hudson tonight, who’s been good in his last two starts, but on the season his 2.75 ERA is deceiving when you look at his 4.54 xFIP. It allows a barrel rate of almost 10% and a rate of 45% hard hit this season. Witt brings great value tonight to go with a sneaky stack of Royals if their bats wake up.

Tim Anderson- SS, CWS at Drew Smyly ($4,900 DK, $3,600 FD)

Anderson went 1-4 Monday after hitting safely in five of his last seven games with multiple hits in all five games. Last week, Anderson hit two home runs with a stolen base and an excellent 10 percent strikeout rate. He shot the ball 11.6% of the time with a 46% hard hit rate. He has crushed LHP in his career, hitting over .300 in all but one season, and at the start of this season he hit .571. He gets a great game against Smyly tonight. Just watch the wind cause it could be nasty in Wrigley. The shortstop position is loaded if you need to pivot.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders – MLB DFS Roster Picks

Kyle Tucker – OF, HOU vs. Chris Flexen ($4,400 DK, $3,500 FD)

On Monday night, Tucker went 2-4 and now has an eight-game hitting streak with multiple hits in five games. He’s hitting nearly .600 during that streak with five extra hits and three stolen bases. Heading into Monday, Tucker was shooting the ball nearly 17% of the time with a 50% hard-hit rate in the previous seven games. He gets a good game against a decent Flexen tonight, but I’ll take Tucker’s red bat for a great price instead.

Yadiel Hernandez – OF, WAS at German Marquez ($2,800 DK, $2,900)

Hernandez is one of the best hitters in baseball, and nobody talks about him. He enters the action tonight with .340 with seven extra hits and a 150 wRC+. His .867 OPS goes well with his 14% barrel rate. Unfortunately, Hernandez is way too cheap for a game at Coors and honestly just too cheap for his current output. So don’t hesitate to eat Hernandez chalk everywhere, especially in liquid form.

JD Martinez – OF, BOS vs. Noah Syndergaard ($4,200 DK, $3,700 FD)

Martinez is having a solid season and is bringing a five-game hitting streak into tonight’s game. He hit a home run on Sunday and, over the course of the streak, has five more hits to go with a .350 ISO and 1,250 OPS. He only shoots the ball 6.7% of the time but has a 67% hard hit rate. Martinez is starting to crush and gets a thrilling game against Syndergaard tonight which exceeds expectations to start the season.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

COORS STACK – Washington Nationals at Colorado Rockies (Erick Fedde, RHP at German Marquez, RHP)

Coors is generally a solid game, and a Marquez vs. Fedde matchup makes it a great game again tonight. Both teams have a good price, and the Rockies should be the most popular play against Fedde. But don’t sleep on the Nats and their value with Soto, Bell, Hernandez and others. If you look at Colorado, Ryan McMahon has a good price while paying more for Charlie Blackmon and Connor Joe.

Detroit Tigers against the Pittsburgh Pirates (Bryse Wilson, RHP)

Most won’t watch the Tigers on a slate this size, but they have a tantalizing game against Wilson. Wilson hasn’t made it past four innings this year, which means a lot of Pirate feathering. Javy Baez continues to be game play for me, and you can stack up with Spencer Torkelson and a few others, depending on how the lineup is rolled out.

Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners (Chris Flexen, RHP)

Flexen has been solid this year, but I will continue to target the Astros bats because monster play is coming. Tucker is my favorite game, but Yordan Alvarez is right behind. Jeremy Pena is also raking in, while Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman are expected to return. There might be some value depending on Chas McCormick and a few others tonight.

There are plenty of quality stacks tonight on such a large slate.

Welcome back to another edition of first base and third base fancy baseball waiver wire pickups. We’re driving here, it’s crazy to think that baseball season is already a month old.

For those unfamiliar, every week at RotoBaller we post a waiver thread article for every position. This article will look at inside corner options, both in 1B and 3B. You can also read our other articles on the middle infield (2B and SS), outfield, starting pitchers, and more.

Here are some names to consider on the waiver wire for this upcoming week of MLB and fantasy baseball season — May 2 through May 8. Let’s get straight to the point!

Wendle was a guy I approached two weeks ago as a potential waiver thread addition. Since then, he has continued his stellar start to the season with the Marlins. Wendle ripped up his first home runs of the season last week and went for eight runs.

His on-hit percentage, speed out, and barrel-out percentage are all below average, but Wendle has elite bat-to-ball skills. He was great at getting the ball in play and getting on base all over the Marlins lineup.

Wendle hits .304 and has a .371 OBP and .817 OPS in the first month of the season. He only has nine plate appearances against lefties, but he’s performed well enough to be a valuable fantasy asset. Wendle is also already halfway through his stolen base total in 2021, slipping four sacks.

Wendle was a truly underrated addition for the Marlins this offseason, and is definitely someone fantasy owners should sign up in the future.

Wilmer Flores has always been a relatively underrated bat at the big league level. Since joining the Giants in 2020, he’s actually carved out a nice role for himself in the middle of their roster. Heading into 2022, Flores seemed to be heading more towards a platoon role until Evan Longoria ended up on the injured list.

Flores has been propelled into a starting position, and so far he has enjoyed the opportunity. In 17 games played, he had 12 runs and hit a pair of homers while posting a 122 OPS+ and .757 OPS. Flores has also seen an increase in his barrel, hard-hit and sweep point percentages so far this season.

Although he could potentially lose playing time to Longoria, the veteran third baseman still doesn’t have a timeline for his return. Flores should continue to play almost every day for the time being and is a solid option for fantasy owners to consider.

Neuse has enjoyed his first shot at daily game time so far this season. He signed with the rebuilding A’s this offseason, and then Kevin Smith ended up on the injured reserve, pushing him into a full-time role in the hot corner.

Neuse has two homers while adding 13 RBIs and stealing three bases. On top of that, he is hitting .328 and has an OBP of .394 and an OPS of .863 in 17 games played. Although this is a small sample, it is certainly possible that the breakout is legitimate.

Neuse hasn’t been able to find consistent success so far at the big league level, but he has a relatively strong record in the minor leagues. In five minor league seasons, Neuse hit .294 and posted an .815 OPS.

He hasn’t shown much of that power so far this season, but maybe that could change if he starts hitting the ball more in the air. Neuse has produced a 60% ground ball rate and 15% fly ball rate so far this season.

Either way, playtime is here and he’s taking full advantage of it, so fantasy owners should definitely take a look at the potential late bloomer.

Espinal has put together a strong 2021 season for the Blue Jays, but heading into this season he was expected to be part of the pack with Cavan Biggio in second. However, so far the utilitarian infielder has held on to his success and taken on the role full-time.

Espinal has played 22 games this season and has two homers and three stolen bases. In a very small sample size, it recorded career highs in hardest hit (48.9%), barrel (10.6%) and sweet spot percentage (53.2%).

Espinal quickly ran away with the job and made a nice little chunk out of the Blue Jays roster. As long as that is the case, there’s no reason to believe Espinal won’t have a breakout campaign on one of baseball’s top rosters.

Others to consider: Josh Rojas (19% registered), LaMonte Wade Jr (4% enrolled), Yandy Diaz (4% enrolled), Pavin Smith (4% enrolled), Franchy Cordero (1% enrolled)
